I have been trying to get my gynecologist to prescribe this drug for me. I was wondering if anyone know of a good generic (tamoxifen) to help me.
I have been taking tamoxifen for about 10 years and I know the drug is safe. It is not a steroid (it has anabolic effects). Does anyone know if tamoxifen can be used to treat gynecomastia or not?

I have tried to have a check-up and a gynecologist who will likely prescribe it to me. I am a breast nurse and my gynecologist is the gynecologist in charge of my gynecology. My gynecologist was an OB/GYN. He/she has the right to prescribe anabolic agents (tamoxifen, arimidex, etc.).
I would suggest that your gynecologist, who is a board-certified OB/GYN, might prescribe tamoxifen if you have other medical conditions or if you are on steroids.

Darned symptoms I have had for a couple of years. I've had one more gynecomastia that I had to stop. I have been on anastrozole (tamoxifen), letrozole (tamoxifen, and nolvadex) and letrozole and have not had a gynecologist or OB/GYN ever. They have been my biggest complaints. I have had one for years and they are not as bad as they would like to be. I have been taking it for 4 years and they seem to be very helpful. I have also had to stop my nolvadex and tamoxifen. I was prescribed it because I was on anabolic steroids and they told me it was not a good idea.
I'm sure you understand how I feel. I was going to ask my gynecologist about it but he said "if you have not seen your gynecologist yet, you are going to need to see an OB/GYN, because they can tell you how to use anabolic agents. I would suggest that you go to the doctor at your local hospital and ask him about it".

I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you so much. I think I'm going to try it again. I did find a doctor at the OB/GYN and told him I needed to see my gynecologist. My gynecologist went to the ER and told me I needed to see her. He then gave me a prescription. I've been taking it for years and the only thing I know is that my gynecologist told me it was not a good idea.

I have a friend who is a gynecologist and she's had an appointment with an OB/GYN about 10 years ago. She told me she had been on anastrozole for 2 years and she had been on a tamsulosin (tamoxifen).
